December Update

We don't do a very good job of keeping this blog updated, but that's ok because when we do the quarterly recap it makes it seem like we've got a lot going on.

So what have we been up to since Nov 2? Here's the scoop. (in no particular order)

Thanksgiving we took a quick trip to Nauvoo, IL to see Natalia's sister, Marissa, get married. It was a long drive but it was worth the trip. The boy is Chandler Richmond. He is officially Owen's favorite person in the world.

Here are some obligatory kissy photos

...And a couple of the temple

Here are the boys in their Wedding suits/tuxes. You almost can't see the bald spot on Jackson's head. Didn't hear the story? Read on.

The wedding train. A Coles/Packard tradition dating back to pre-historical times.

The main event for the boys ages 2 - 8 was chasing lady bugs. For some reason they were all over the place.

A week before the Nauvoo trip my parents came to visit.

Natalia and the boys showed Mom and Dad all the fun things to do at the OKC science museum

It seems like a rediculous idea now, but apparently it was warm enough to eat outdoors at some point in November.

So why would anyone want to come visit us in OKC? There's lots to do! ...No, really, I mean it. ..There's so much to do here I can't even name all of the things.
We are so totally un-bored we would never even dream of having to entertain ourselves with...

...sticking halloween popper toys to our faces

... or a bubble blowing contest

Ok, so Natalia's bubble is bigger but she totally cheated.

We went to Texas for Garrett (Talia's bro.) and Kelsey's baby blessing
and Owen drove the tractor

and Jackson jumped in leaves

Lots of leaves!

Now for the story of the haircut - I'm sorry if you had the endurance to hang in this long it's really not that interesting - But here it is: Jackson had been wanting his hair cut short for about 2 weeks in the middle of November. We told him that we would be happy to do it as soon as the wedding was over and we had family pictures. Well, that wasn't good enough for Mr. "I can do it myself" The night before we leave for the wedding he walks into the kitchen looking like this:

We were torn between wanting to ground him for life or shave his head bald. Instead we threatened him until he cried.

When something like this happens you don't know whether to laugh or scream. Looking back, I think laughing would have been the better choice.

And now, totally unrelated to anything else, some gratuitous Ivy pics:

Sure to be a future classic for Granny and Ivy both:

the end. - see you in May

Wow, you've been busy. Thanks for updating us on all the fun. Ivy and the boys are cutie-pies.
